THE CANAAN DOG CLUB OF THE UNITED KINGDOM WELCOMES YOU TO OUR WEBSITE.

We are the official and only Kennel Club-recognised
Canaan Dog breed club in the UK.

Have you every heard of the Canaan Dog before now? In truth, very few people have. What makes the Canaan Dog so unique? Well as you visit different dog breed websites, you will soon come to realise that there are very few truly 'natural' breeds. As owners and fanciers of one of these few natural breeds, we jealousy guard our dogs from those who would change it to suit themselves or the show ring.

This site offers you a glimpse into the history of the breed and into the Canaan Dog's struggle for recognition in the British Isles, as well as the facts about the beginnings of our breed club. Additionally the site offer a generous amount of general breed information, while showcasing Canaan Dog accomplishments in the UK. We also have a photo gallery displaying Canaans from all over the world, including its homeland of Israel and the Middle East.

If this is your first visit to our website, may we suggest you go to the table of contents and check out the full range of topics covered. If you are new to the breed, why not start at Breed History and work your way from there.

This website is meant to be a resource for those seeking information on the breed and/or the UK breed club and we hope you find it informative and enjoyable. If you would like to help us promote the breed and have a say in the future of the Canaan Dog in the UK, why not join us? You will find a link to our membership application on the site map or you can contact the club secretary to have one posted to you.

We hope you will find the Canaan Dog as fascinating and wonderful as we do. If you have any queries that are not answered in these pages please contact The Canaan Dog Club secretary, Mrs Ellen Minto and she will be happy to help you.
